Results of Hackney Central by-election
Hackney Central ward by-election results show strong support for the Green Party as candidate Mustafa Korel takes second place, beating Liberal Democrat Pauline Pearce and Conservative candidate Andrew Boff.
The Green share of the vote increased compared with the 2010 elections. Mustafa Korel said:
“This is such a great result for the Green Party and for Hackney. There is an appetite for something different here and the growing Green vote reflects this.
I want to thank everyone who voted for me, everyone who has given me so much support and for the Greens for believing in me.”
